From Everlasting to Everlasting

We live in the age of information. You can “doom-scroll” for hours and hours (don’t do that, by the way) on Instagram, Facebook, X, or any other number of social media platforms receiving huge quantities of information. And then there is AI...an absolutely overwhelming amount of knowledge at our fingertips.

In such an environment, it is good to be reminded that our knowledge, as vast as it is, is absolutely dwarfed in comparison to the God of the Universe. It is easy to become proud, and tout our generation as “technologically advanced” and “more sophisticated” than other generations.

But the scriptures remind us in Job 26:14 that all of creation represents just part of Gods ways…the fringe of His works is EVERYTHING that we know (and are continuing to learn about)! Furthermore, Psalm 90 reminds us that God has always been…from everlasting to everlasting, He is God!!

This should make us pause and reconsider the relevance we are giving to the Bible. God, who has been, is, and will always be (from everlasting to everlasting) has intentionally written down huge portions of His wisdom for us to study, covering every subject area of life.

Finances are no different. Scriptures like Proverbs 22:7 teach us that borrowing money makes you a slave to the lender. Proverbs 6 teaches us that, if we find ourselves in debt, we are to deliver ourselves from the debt like a gazelle running from a lion! These words need to be considered and obeyed, because remember who wrote them. The God who is from everlasting to everlasting and holds our very breathe in His hand…
